This program is designed for those who want a better understanding of classical art approach and time-honoured Renaissance techniques.

The goal of this class is to create an in-depth piece of artwork, painted in the Traditional style using the grisaille underpainting, glazing, scumbling, and dry brush techniques to achieve a high degree of finish. This system is perfect for beginners or advanced students as it divides the painting using form, tone, and colour to create original works of art.

All steps of the painting will be explained, you will cover how to apply the paint, what mediums to use and what colours to apply from the first stage through to the final rendering of the image. You will learn how to build up the underpainting and then how to apply colour using the transformative effects of glazing.

By the end of this course you will develop an understanding of materials and will have a solid foundation in painting.
